  • When role playing social encounters, we can assume the character to have multiple incentives and objections

  • One idea is to have scales for incentives and objections: Eg: 5 in incentives, 7 in objections

  • If the sum of the incentive scales exceeds the sum of the objections scales, the character resolves the social encounter

  • If the objections cross a critical threshold, violence can ensue

  • Based on the current values of the objections and incentives, the character can seem disinterested, eager, scared etc
