  • To suppress ego, it’s important to resist the temptation to seek recognition before the act.

  • One common case of ego getting in your way is the resistance to do work that you think is beneath you before you’re given higher responsibilities.

  • Causes us to build castles in the sky, i.e. prefer living in our thoughts than engage with the real.

  • Ego wants everything.

    • To realistically achieve things, it’s important to be able to say no.
  • Ego will prevent you from delegating and cause you to micro-manage.

  • Selflessness and humility can temper ego.
